Rootkits are one thing but sucking all the value out of the economy into
their coffers is far worse. While we might worry about losing jobs to
off-shoring, we should be more worried about emulating the economics of
Sicily where businesses is done at the forbearance of the incumbents.

Verizon Wireless could adopt the strategies of Sony - "rootkits? who
really knows what they are? we have the right to muck with anything that
touches 'our' network".
